Mr. William Junious Coleman, 89, of 11621 Reedy Branch Road, Chesterfield, VA, departed his earthly home and entered into eternal rest on June 17, 2023 at Swift Creek Trauma Center at Chippenham, Richmond, VA.
He was born on November 21, 1933, in Chesterfield, VA, to Junious Washington Coleman and Florine Lee Coleman. He was not only a caring and loving father and grandfather, but a wonderful brother, brother-in-law, uncle and friend. He was educated in Chesterfield County Public Schools. He was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church, Chesterfield. He retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company and Chesterfield County Public Schools.
William was a very humorous and fun-loving man who made friends everywhere he went. He was a “Master Grass Cutter.” He loved harvesting pecans from his pecan trees and grapes from his grape vines.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Junious and Florine Coleman; his wife, Lillie Ercell Coleman; daughter, Florine Pencile; son, Willie Coleman; two grandsons, Ronnie and Jerome Coleman; two brothers, Edward and Herman Coleman; and two sisters, Daisy Mosby and Susie Lee.
William leaves to cherish his memories: four daughters, Ellen Kleiber (Neil), Faye Brown (Herbert), Delilah Taylor (Stanley) and Vickie Toney; two sons, Charles Coleman (Ellen) and Larry Coleman. He also leaves his blended family, his sister-in-law, Ruth Coleman, Bernice Graves, June Lee (Ernest), Diana Jefferson (Bennie), Mildred Brown (Rudy), Eliza Bailey (Milton), Betty Jefferson (Ivan) and Kenneth Coleman, Sr.; one sister, Florence Williams (Richard); son-in-law, Rev. Nathaniel Pencile, Sr.; brother-in-law, Dennis Mosby; sixteen grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren. We were blessed with good memories of his past, he often reminisced about the past and things he did as a young man. His secretary and granddaughter, Crystal Coleman and his tech supporter and grandson, Terron Brown; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Services will be held 1:00 P.M., Friday, June 30, 2023, at Community Independent Methodist Church, 12033 River Road, Chesterfield, VA, the Rev. Pate Pearson, Pastor, Rev. Herbert Holly II, eulogist and Rev. Dr. Earl Thompson, officiating. The interment to follow at The Coleman Family Cemetery.
