November 15, 1960 – May 20, 2022
Mr. Wayne Carl Leneave, 61, of Gloucester Point, VA, was peacefully called home to our Lord on Friday, May 20, 2022. Wayne was born on November 15, 1960 in Chesterfield, VA.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Helen Leneave. Wayne is survived by his two daughters, Shannon Brown (Daniel), and Amber Leneave-Barton (Robert); seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren, Madi, Lexie, Jackson, Abby, D.J., Jordyn, and Izabella, Giovanni and Zeke; his father, William Leneave, Sr., his sister and three brothers, Dorothy Smith (Lewis), William “Bill” Leneave, Jr. (Vicky-deceased), Daniel “Danny” Leneave, and Robert Leneave; his girlfriend of nearly seven years, Debra Garnett; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Known to many as “Baby Wayne”, he was the toughest man to ever walk the streets of Southside, where he and his three brothers were known as the “4 Horsemen”. As a member of the Union, he served as a Foreman in the Sheet Metal Workers, Local Union 100 in Richmond, VA, where he was the best of the best, and known as “Wayne Snippy Sledgehammer Leneave, the prettiest sheet metal worker of them all!”
Wayne loved the outdoors, and spent his youth hiking the Appalachian Trail and camping with his family and the Boy Scouts of America. He became a gifted craftsman and a skilled jack-of-all-trades who loved hunting, fishing, and kicking back with a cold beer. He spent his last few summers on the pier at Gloucester Point Beach, fishing both day and night. Of all his titles, his proudest was “Dad” and “Papa”. His pride and joy was reflected in his two daughters and his grandbabies.
There will be a celebration of life 4:00 P.M, Saturday, June 11, 2022 at his daughter’s residence in Amelia, VA. For further information to include an address, please contact Shannon Leneave Brown, Amber Leneave-Barton, or any of the Leneave’s via cell phone or Face Book Messenger.
