September 4, 1957 – March 6, 2023

Venita Ann Thomas was born September 4, 1957, to the late Jeanne and Samuel Davis III in Philadelphia, PA.  She was lovingly raised by her late paternal grandmother, Lillie Mae Davis. 

Nita Belle as she was affectionately known attended Philadelphia Public Schools.  She graduated from John Bartram High School.  She also attended the Berean Institute and Brightpoint Community College.

Venita met thew love of her life Barry Thomas and they wed in 1978. He joined the U. S. Army and they raised a beautiful family together.  Ultimately, they settled in Hopewell, VA, where she excelled as a homemaker entrepreneur, evangelist, and a mighty soldier for the Lord.

Venita leaves to cherish her memories her spouse, Barry Sr.; her children, Tomicka, Barry Jr. and Felicia; grandchildren, Marquis, Marcus, Ebony, Ronnie, Dean, Amoni, Zehaviah, Zion, and Aaliyah; three great grandchildren, Marcus Jr., Unique and Mikaii; aunts, Deborah and Nikki; and host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Venita Ann was well-loved by many and impacted an abundance of lives by her sociable personality and infectious smile.  She lived life to the fullest with her family and friends.  She will live forever in our hearts.

Services will be held 11:00 A.M., Thursday, March 30, 2023 in the Chapel of J. M. Wilkerson Funeral Establishment, Inc., 102 South Avenue, Petersburg, VA. The interment to follow at Virginia Veterans Cemetery.
