On the morning of May 4, 2022, Vanessa V. Flowers of Hopewell, Virginia departed this life at the age of 66. Vanessa was born to Mildred and Garfield L. Brooks, Sr. on November 15, 1955.
She was preceded in death by her father, Garfield L. Brooks, Sr. and two sisters, Beverly J. Starks and Juliet S. Brooks.
Vanessa is survived by her daughter, Jessica B. Flowers of Petersburg, Virginia; her mother, Mildred V. Brooks of Richmond, Virginia; four sisters, Laverne Dean (Larry) of Charlotte, North Carolina, Carolyn Brooks of Richmond, Virginia, Zenobia Brooks-Hanna of Richmond, Virginia, and Ferolyn Brooks of Washington, DC; one brother, Garfield L. Brooks, Jr. of Richmond, Virginia; devoted friends, Nancy Hardy and Freddie Flowers; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, a great niece and a host of friends.
Family & friends visitation will be held 7:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., Thursday, May 19, 2022 at the Chapel of J. M. Wilkerson Funeral Establishment, Inc., 102 South Avenue, Petersburg, VA. The services will be private.
