September 17, 1963 – April 17, 2023

Vada McDaris Carroll was born on September 17, 1963, in Winter Park, Florida, to the late James “Buddy Carroll and Rosemary Davies. He left Florida as a child and lived in Michigan and Massachusetts before returning to Florida in 1991.
Vada loved working with his hands and thought there was nothing that he couldn’t fix or repair. He worked as an Electrician for Lake County Public Schools in Florida for over 20 years and held various maintenance jobs and positions in the Petersburg, Virginia area before his passing.
He leaves to his family a lifetime of memories: his wife of 30 years, Christine Wright Carroll; daughters, Dominique Shavies of Georgia and Christina Carroll of Virginia; sons, Eric Carroll (Maira) of North Carolina and Vida “Junior” Carroll of Virginia, and Wesley Carroll of Florida; grandchildren, who were the loves of his life, Elivia Frasier, Jordan Williams, Eric Carroll, Jr., Vada LaKhari and Santana Carroll-Mondragon and three bonus grandchildren, Xavier Ramirez, Juan Ramirez III, and Jocelyn Ramirez. Vada also leaves his sisters, Dr. Mary Bonds (Quenell) of Florida, and Ernestine Hilton of Massachusetts; brothers, Theodore Dukes and James Edward Carroll of Florida, Larry Dukes and John Cruell of Michigan; and a host of in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
The one thing I have heard over and over is what a great guy he was and how kind he was. Regardless of his struggles in this life, he had a heart for helping people; and that’s how we will choose to remember him. The Family
Services for Mr. Carroll will be private.
