Tyson Markelle Edwards was born to Helena Danielle Bell and Antonio Maurice Edwards on October 6, 2000, in Petersburg, VA. He entered into eternal rest on June 5, 2023, at VCU/MCV Medical Center in Richmond, VA at the age of 22.

Tyson graduated with the Class of 2019 from Dinwiddie High School in Dinwiddie, VA. He was baptized at an early age at Trinity Missionary Baptist Church. He was on his spiritual journey of learning God and the meaning behind the angelic numbers 111, 1111 and 444. Tyson enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, but no matter what he was doing, he always put GOD first. He had a unique fascination with four leaf clovers and saving turtles. When Tyson wasn’t tending to family, he would be on the road with friends. Four things he had a passion for were money, cars, clothes and shoes.

Tyson was preceded in death by his father, Antonio Maurice Edwards; maternal grandparents, Alice Marie Bell and Al Junious Bell; uncles, Bobby Bell (Aunt Tina) and Tyrone Edwards; cousins, Carlos Manson and Lachelle Thomas; and his devoted friends, Kavon Cooper, RaeQwon “ThaChef” Hinton, Travonte Williams and Willie Studivant.

Tyson was a loving son, brother, grandson, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend. His love was very special for his family and friends. He would go above and beyond for them all. His presence was a blessing to everyone he came in contact with. 

Tyson is survived by his mother, Helena Bell; sisters, Keyona Bell, Myesha Grant, Shakira Bell and Alanah Edwards; brother, Avan Edwards; nieces and nephews, Darionna Cox, Aubrey Ridley, Jovon Rawlings, Kah’Lani Rawlings, Cassius Bell, and My’Kira Rawlings; paternal grandmother, Roxie Edwards; aunts and uncles, Janette Jones (James) of Dinwiddie VA, James Bell (Erica) of Chesapeake, VA, Edward Bell (Ann) of Colonial Heights, VA, Rachel Manson of Dinwiddie, VA, Russell Bell of Alberta, VA, and Lorenzo Edwards of Petersburg, VA; devoted cousins, Tysheik Black, Orlando Ellis, Kyi Rhodes and Tyrese Hawkins; devoted friends, Dravonte Williams, Brian Gilliam, Elijah Thomas, Dee Williams, Daquon Blow, Justis Maximini, Angel Ventura, Luis Ventura and Camm Foster; and a host of other family members and close friends.

Services will be held 4:00 P.M. Saturday, June 17, 2023, at Third Baptist Church, 550 Farmer Street, Petersburg, VA, the Rev. Alexander Williams, eulogist. The interment to follow at Little Zion RZUA Church Cemetery.
