T’Miya Orniqué Murphy was born July 27, 2004, to Tomeka Murphy and Jermineda Brown. She departed this life suddenly on August 1, 2023.

Miya, as she was affectionately known as, graduated from Thomas Dale High School Class of 2022, Chester, VA. She also received her Medical Assistant Certification from Chesterfield Career and Technical Center.

Miya was a loveable, kind-hearted, and very goofy young lady. She loved to dance and sing. Miya always said she was going to be “TikTok famous” and she was known for her favorite word, “Bruh”.

Miya was preceded in death by her father, Jermineda Brown; grandparents, Diane Murphy, John C. Smith and Warren Rose.

Miya leaves to cherish her memories her mother Tomeka Murphy Benissan; devoted grandmother, Frances Rose; devoted sisters, Takira Jones and Aleasia Brown; brothers, Elijah, Jah’Lik, Sav’yon and Kymmothy Brown; uncles, Darrell Murphy, Dwight McKinnon, Damien Webb, Sr., Leroy Brown (Nanette), Kenenth Brown (Desirae) and Bryan Rose (Ebony); devoted cousin, Kay Murphy and Jacqué Brown; her “Big Mama”, Lena Grant; godfather, Kevin Morton; godbrother, Deonte Jones; and a host of cousins, other relatives and caring friends to include the Grant, Patrick, Jones, Lewis, Ridley and her “Run” family.

Services will be held 11:00 A.M., Saturday, August 12, 2023, in the Chapel of J. M. Wilkerson Funeral Establishment, Inc., 102 South Avenue, Petersburg, VA, the Rev. Rashaun Hill, eulogist. The interment to follow at Wilkerson Memorial Cemetery.
