Fun at the river for the whole family! The Great Appomattox Duck Race & Festival is here to benefit homeless pets in our community! Everyone is encouraged to adopt a rubber duck NOW…then spend a fun-filled day at the festival to cheer on their duck as they race down the Appomattox River. The grand prize is guaranteed to be at least $500 in cash, and the prize amounts will increase with the number of ducks adopted.
Anyone 18 & up can adopt a duck for just $5. Proceeds from The Great Appomattox River Duck Race benefit Off the Chain Animal Rescue, a local 501c3 charity. Rubber ducks are available for adoption online using a credit card at Eventbrite.com or you can adopt a duck in person (cash only) at the Appomattox Boat Harbor & Harbor Blast events PRIOR TO THE DAY OF THE EVENT. In addition, ducks are available at a variety of community events, including Farmers Markets, and more. We can’t guarantee any ducks will be available to adopt on the day of the race – so get your ducks in a row before the event!
