April 21, 1979 – August 6, 2023

Mr. Terrance T. Smith, 44, affectionately known as “Smitty”, departed this life on August 6, 2023 at Bon Secours St. Mary’s Hospital, Richmond, VA. Terrance was born on April 21, 1979 in Petersburg, VA, to Percy L. Smith and Alice P. Smith. He was the baby child of ten and spoiled by everyone.
He was educated in the Petersburg Public Schools System and later obtained his G.E.D. He enjoyed playing various sports as a child and exercising in his spare time. He was also an avid Dallas Cowboys Fan.
He recently was employed at ACO Metals in Chester, VA. He accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Now Faith That Works Christian Church under the mentorship of Pastor Keith Jones. To know Terrance was to love him. He was a very jovial and free-spirited person that loved to laugh, joke and spend time with his family and friends.
Terrance was preceded in death by his mother, Alice R. Smith; one brother, Anthony Patterson; nephews, Jamarian Parham and Keiwan Blackwell; maternal grandparents, Fred and Florine E. Patterson and paternal grandparents, Percy and Lessie M. Smith; honorary sister, Barbara Heath; first cousin, Jesus Patterson and his maternal aunt, Alma Burgess.
Terrance leaves to cherish his memories: his loving and devoted father, Percy L. Smith of Petersburg, VA; a devoted significant other, Shameka White of Petersburg, VA; a wife, Keisha Roney, his beautiful children along with their mothers, Tishinia Goode (mother–Regina Goode), Terrika Davis (mother–Tamika Davis), Tremay Smith and Terrance Smith, Jr. (mother-Kiasha Mitchell) and Ter’siya Smith (mother-Shameka White); two grandchildren that he greatly adored, Kahsen Goode and Kinsley Roberts; eight loving and devoted siblings, Timothy Patterson, Sr. (Becky), Kevin Patterson, Sr. (Vickie), Cynthia Patterson, Fred Patterson, Sr. (Tiffany), Carrie Smith, Rhonda Harris (Ronnie), Sonia Smith (Edward Jones) and Duane Smith; all loving and devotednieces and nephews, Shamica Patterson Johnson (Daniel), Diesha Patterson, Yolanda Coleman and Devon Heath (all who were more like his devoted extra siblings due to them being so close in age), Latoya Turner, Timothy Patterson, Jr., Taron Patterson, Timiya Patterson, Tevin Patterson, Tyrik Patterson,, Kevin Patterson, Jr., Diamon Patterson, Nekwon Smith, Jhavar Smith, Senacia Parham, Jasmine Parham, Johnathan Smith, Jacoby Smith, Keontae Smith, Raneq Smith, Ronnie Harris, Jr., Deja Walker, De’yanna George, Desaiah Massenburg, Pharaoh Hanks, Ayonnah Dean, Dejuan Smith, Beshawn Gregory, Nikki Ziegler, Esther Prado, Tajonae Patterson, Jamon Chavis, Tyesha Chavis, Javon Chavis, Fred Patterson, Jr., Breona Brown, Aaron Heath, Nicole Heath and John Coleman (we all loved Uncle Terrance and he loved all of us.); one aunt, Shelverden Smith of Petersburg, VA; one uncle, Fred Patterson, Jr. (Olga) of Westhampton, NJ; eight first cousins, Cheryl Smith, Keith Smith, Kermit Smith, Corey Smith, James Tucker and Timothy “BooBoo” Smith (both devoted/like a brother), Fred Patterson III, James Patterson and Shahira Patterson; forty-one great nieces and great nephews and seven great-great nieces and great-great nephews; devoted family and friends, James “Chubby” Smith, Joe Byrd, Lamont “Lurch” Watson, Bernard “Nardo” Coleman, and Carmen Sykes; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services will be held 2:00 P.M., Saturday, August 19, 2023, at Third Baptist Church, 550 Farmer Street, Petersburg, VA, Pastor Keith Jones, eulogist. The interment to follow at Wilkerson Memorial Cemetery.
