Stacie Deloyce Weatherington, 47 years old, of Petersburg, VA, died April 24, 2023, at Bon Secours Southside Medical Hospital. She was born August 12, 1975, in Richmond, VA, the daughter of the late Vanessa D. Weatherington and Gene L. Gilliam.
Stacie graduated from Petersburg High School in Petersburg, VA, in 1993, also graduated from Richmond School of Health Technology. She attended Brightpoint College (John Tyler Community College) and Richard Bland Community College. She worked at several places one of which was the Forensic Psychiatry Unit at Central State Hospital, Petersburg, VA.
Even as a child Stacie was strong-willed, yet spoiled, and spoke her mind child that only her mother and grandmother could reign. She loved children and helping people. She was loyal to the ones she loved. She could make you laugh hard with her antics. She always found conversation with anyone and was able to pull people into her and you would like her even after she schooled you.
Stacie was baptized at an early age and in 2022 she rededicated her life to Christ.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, Loyce and Elizabeth Weatherington of Petersburg, VA and Robert and Christine Gilliam of Prince George VA, along with an uncle, Ronnie Todd.
Stacie leaves to celebrate her life her fiancée, Derrick Lipscomb and the joy of her life, her daughter, Skhyllah D. Weatherington-Lipscomb both of Petersburg, VA; siblings, Colitha Rollins of Chester, VA, Christina Stith (Daryl) of Prince George, VA, and Letitia Pope (Joe) of Chester VA; special mention, Donna Raida Smith-Bey and Aneesha Elkins-Hanks both of Petersburg VA; aunts, Angela Weatherington of Petersburg, VA, Cynthia W. Jones (Steve) of Chesterfield, VA, Pamela Stith Lundy (Richard) of Petersburg, VA, Kelly Stith and Linda Carr both of Prince George, VA, Sandra Gilliam, of Petersburg, VA, and Debra Moore, Sussex; uncles, Darnell Weatherington (Elsie) of Chester VA, James Weatherington of California, Michael Gilliam and Larry Gilliam both Prince George, VA; a host of nieces, nephews, and godchildren for which she loved and they will deeply miss her.
Services will be held 1:00 P.M., Thursday, May 4, 2023, in the Chapel of J. M. Wilkerson Funeral Establishment, Inc., 102 South Avenue, Petersburg, VA, Pastor Alvin Gurley, eulogist.
