September 27, 1950 – April 27, 2023

Mr. Rufus Daniel McNair, 72, of Petersburg, has entered eternal rest and peace on Thursday, April 27, 2023, at Battlefield Convalescent Center, Petersburg, VA.

Rufus worked as a brick mason for many years before his health declined.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rufus Jr. and Hannah McNair; brothers, Herbert McNair (Francine), Cecil McNair (Phyllis) and Bernard McNair; sisters, Mary Lee Jefferson and Catherine Collins (Rev. Clay Collins). 

Left to cherish his memories: his siblings, Margaret McNair of Hopewell, VA; Eloise Stephens of Petersburg, VA; Larry McNair (Alice) of Chesterfield, VA, Michael McNair (Lucille of Chesterfield, VA, Patricia Hill (Wayne) and Jeffrey McNair both of Petersburg, VA, Tyrone McNair (Felicia) of Newport News, VA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Services will be held 1:00 P.M., Saturday, May 6, 2023, in the Chapel of J. M. Wilkerson Funeral Establishment, Inc., 102 South Avenue, Petersburg, VA, the Rev. Claybon Collins, eulogist. The interment to follow at Dinwiddie Memorial Park.
