October 15, 1931 – May 13, 2023

Mrs. Rebecca Gee Ridley, fondly called “Beck” or “Becky”, of South Prince George, VA, entered into a peaceful rest surrounded by her daughter on Saturday, May 13, 2023. She was the daughter of the late Eva Gee and Percy Mason.
Rebecca was baptized at an early age, joining Providence Baptist Church. She served on the Pastor’s Aide Ministry and Missionary Ministry. Her unwavering faith in God sustained her, even in the midst of her declining health. She was formerly employed as a Healthcare Professional serving many families over a span of fifteen years.
Rebecca had a very humbling smile, years of wisdom to pass on and a forgiving heart. If you just happened to be sitting next to her, she would place her hand over yours and pat it so lovingly to let you know, “It’s going to be alright.” She had a very close circle of friends and family members that would call her faithfully. Her love for cooking spoke through her food. Every dish was great tasting and if, by chance you came to visit, there was no way you were leaving without something to eat. Her desserts, lemon chess and sweet potato pie, were in such a demand she had to start early prepping them!!
Rebecca met and married the love of her life, Mr. Jerome M. Ridley and they were together for over 64 years. Born to their union was son, the late Jerome U. Ridley and daughter, Barbara L. Ridley.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, and Mary Jones who was like a sister to her.
Rebecca leaves her legacy to her daughter and caregiver, Barbara Ridley (Thomas Kerns); daughter-in-law, Shelia Ridley of Georgia; stepson, Jimmy Wyatt (Bernice) of Emporia, VA; sister-in-law, Marry Hobbs of Richmond, VA; devoted son-like figure, Donald R. Parham (Pamela); godsons, DeNata’ R. Parham and Jerrod Moore; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, grandchildren, great grandchildren and friends whom she loved so much.
Special thanks to her caregivers, Jennifa Jenkins, Jeanette Coles, Gladys Perry and the Staff of Amedisys Hospice Agency.
Services will be held 1:00 P.M., Saturday, May 20, 2023, at Providence Baptist Church, 15901 Providence Road, Petersburg, VA, the Rev. Brian Walker, eulogist. The interment to follow at Dinwiddie Memorial Park.
