December 24, 1948 – May 9, 2023

Ms. Pauline Mabel Williams, 75, of 311 E. Cawson Street, Hopewell, VA, departed this life on May 9, 2023, at Bon Secours Southside Medical Center, Petersburg, VA.  “Pete”, as she was affectionately called, was born on December 24, 1948, in Prince George County, VA.

She attended Hopewell Public Schools. She was employed at Ft. Lee (Ft. Gregg-Adams) for many years until her health declined.  

Pete was an honorary member of several churches in the Tri-Cities Area; however, she was not a member at a set one, but she enjoyed the fellowship of worship.

She enjoyed bingo, fishing, and word search puzzles. Pete also enjoyed watching her favorite game shows, “The Price is Right” and “Wheel of Fortune”.

Pete was preceded in death by her parents, James and Mary Williams; a sister, Virginia Hankins; brothers, Edward Berry, Clarence Berry, Richard Berry, Glenn Jackson and Alexander Williams; four aunts, Pauline Allen, Bessie Bradford, Gertrude Jones and Verle Claiborne; four uncles, Harry Williams, Benjamin Williams, Alex Williams and Wille Williams; and her grandchildren, Dominque and Dominic.

Pete leaves to cherish her memories: two children, Horace Williams (Florence) of Petersburg, VA and Theresa Williams of Hopewell, VA; grandchildren, Darnell Meekins, Precious Meekins, and Treyron Meekins all of Richmond, VA, and Quaasia and Quashawn both of Hopewell, VA; sisters, Thelma Tate and Doris Williams both of Hopewell, VA, and Florence Washington of Petersburg, VA; brothers, Harry Williams and James Williams both of Hopewell, VA; aunts, Florence Williams and Mabel Williams; devoted niece, Trina Williams; and a host nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Services will be held 1:00 P.M., Saturday, May 20, 2023, in the Chapel of J. M. Wilkerson Funeral Establishment, Inc., 102 South Avenue, Petersburg, VA, Elder Dr. Charles Pender, eulogist.
