April 24, 1957 – June 20, 2023

Mrs. Patricia E. Johnson, 66, of Petersburg, VA, transitioned peacefully on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, at Dinwiddie Health & Rehabilitation Center. She was the daughter of the late Louise Baker Macklin and Junius L. Macklin, Jr.
Pat or Tricia, as she was known to her family, friends and colleagues, was born on April 24, 1957. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sister, Virginia Taylor; brothers, Junius Macklin III, Benjamin Macklin, Bernard Macklin and Raymond Macklin; and nephews, Robert Jerome Powell and Marcus T. Macklin.
Pat grew up on Harding Street in Petersburg, VA and accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior at an early age. She was a 1975 graduate of Petersburg High School and went on to receive an Associate’s degree from John Tyler Community College as well as a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from Virginia State University. Pat worked in several educator-related capacities throughout Virginia including Central Texas College on the Fort Gregg-Adams (formerly Fort Lee) campus and spent over 20 years serving the children and community in the Petersburg Public School System. Her most recent position was the GED coordinator at Pittman Academy. She was a free spirit that marched to the drum of her own beat and absolutely enjoyed engaging with her students. She loved comedy and retro tv shows, visiting museums and historical sites, traveling, driving, old school music and spending time with her sons.
Pat is survived by her husband, James E. Johnson; sons, Mario J. and Carlos J. Johnson; stepson, Victor Holloway; sisters, Annie M. Powell and Delores M. Williams; brothers, Robert E. Macklin, John W. Macklin and Calvin L. Macklin (Hazel Williams); sister-in-law, Annie Hill (Herbert); and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Special thank you to Patricia Batts, Delores Williams and Sherri Williams for your love and support over the last few months.
Services will be held 11:00 A.M., Thursday, June 29, 2023, in the Chapel of J. M. Wilkerson Funeral Establishment, Inc., 102 South Avenue, Petersburg, VA. The interment to follow at Dinwiddie Memorial Park.
