Nannie Edith Morris Wilson, 88, of Dinwiddie County, departed this life on Friday, March 4, 2022. Edith was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Wilson; her parents, Benjamin Franklin Morris and Virginia Babb Morris; brothers, Bennie Morris and Mack Morris; and sisters, Geraldine Vaughan and Katherine Pond.
She is survived by her sister, Emily Williams; brothers, Joe Morris and William Morris; brother-in-law, Wayne Vaughan; as well as many nieces, nephews and other extended family members.
Edith was blessed to have her baby brother, William, live next door for many years. William was a devoted caregiver to her since her health declined in late 2018. He would see her daily to assist with meals and medications.
After Edith retired from Brown & Williamson in 1985, she worked at Super Fresh. Once she fully retired, she volunteered several days a week at Southside Regional Medical Center until her health prevented her from driving.
The family received friends from 12:45 – 1:45 p.m. on Thursday, March 10, 2022 at the Crater Road Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes, 3935 S. Crater Road, Petersburg, Virginia 23805. A procession followed and a graveside service took place at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 10, 2022 in Southlawn Memorial Park.
