August 7, 1955 – June 3, 2023

Mildred Paulette Gordon Brown, at the age of 67, transitioned into eternal life peacefully on June 3, 2023.  She was born to the late Raymond Gordon, Sr. and Mildred I. Gordon on August 7, 1955.  She was the baby of five children.  In addition to her parents, Paulette was preceded in death by her stepson, Duane L. Brown; brothers, Ronnie S. Gordon and Raymond Gordon, Jr.; sister, Joyce A. Jefferson (James); mother-in-law, Mary A. Stith and father-in-law, Obediah Stith, Sr.  

Paulette was educated in the Chesterfield County Public Schools System.  At an early age, Paulette was baptized into the membership at Union Grove Baptist Church, Chesterfield County, Virginia. She later moved her membership to Antioch Christian Center in Petersburg, Virginia. Later, she moved her membership to the Good Shepherd Baptist Church in Petersburg, Virginia, where she was a faithful member.

She was formerly employed by Chesterfield County Public Schools System. On March 28, 2015, Paulette was honored with “The Community Pearl Award’ by Alpha Omega Zeta Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., for her dedicated service to family, church, community and mankind.  

Paulette loved traveling, shopping, watching cooking shows on TV and helping her best friend. Mrs. Susie Wallace make floral arrangements and working in the garden.  She appreciated sharing prayers and praying with her best friend, Audrey Noel. Paulette loved all her family and friends. Paulette was a very kindhearted person, to know Paulette was to love her.  She was a very loving and dedicated wife, mother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend who loved the Lord with all her heart. Paulette also enjoyed visiting her family and friends and attending family events.  

To cherish her memories, her devoted, loving, caring husband, Llurick Odell Brown, Sr.; a devoted, caring son, Llurick Odell Brown, Jr.  Mrs. Brown is also survived by her sibling, Clifton L. Gordon (Gwendolyn); god-mother, Ruthie Wyche and her dauthers, Tarika Wyche and Ayesha Cole; god-daughters, Javonda Tucker, Patrice Parker (Donnell) and Toni Stevenson; god-son, Haywood Anderson; devoted nieces, Maureen D. Tucker, Antionette M. Tucker, Joyce T. Tucker, Phyllis King (Michael), Michelle Allen, Rhonda Brown, Pamela Minor, Juanita Hinton, Stacy Christian, and Shaunelle Gordon; devoted nephews, Jaminien Jefferson, Antoine Tucker, Jarvis Tucker, Dominic Gordon and Russell Allen; devoted aunt, Viola G. Evans; devoted sister-in-law, Shirley B. Gordon; devoted sisters-in-law, Odessa Pankey and Vanessa Carroll (Steven); devoted brothers-in-law, Obediah Stith, Jr. (Rolanda) and Ronald Brown; devoted cousins, Christabell Jones Goode (Ben), Dale Evans (Floyd), Robert Robertson, Jr., Audrey Stephenson, Timothy Stephenson, Sr. and Bruce Branch; devoted best friends, Susie Wallace, and Audrey Noel; and a host of loving great nieces, nephews and cousins.   

Services will be held 11:00 A.M., Saturday, July 1, 2023, at Good Shepherd Baptist Church, 2223 South Crater Road, Petersburg, VA, Bishop Jeffrey L. Reaves, Sr., Pastor, eulogist. The interment to follow at Dinwiddie Memorial Park.

Viewing will be held from 11:00 A.M. until 8:00 P.M., Friday, June 30, 2023 at the funeral establishment. The family request that bright colors be wore to honor and celebrate the life of both Sister Brown and Deacon Brown.
