Mary Collins Mayton, 93 of South Chesterfield, went to her heavenly home, Thursday, March 3, 2022. She was born November 4, 1928 to the late Mabel and Major Collins. Mary was also preceded in death by her husband James Edward Mayton; daughter, Linda Ann Mayton; brother, Sterling Lynn Collins; and nephew, William Lynn Collins. She is survived by her brother, Major A. Collins; two sisters-in-law, Alice Collins and Edna Mae Barton (John); nephew, Ray Collins; brother-in-law, Bill Mayton (Rosa Lee); and several loving relatives and friends. Mary was a charter member and elder of Greenwood Presbyterian Church in Chesterfield. She retired from American Filtrona and from VDOT as a toll booth operator. Mary was also an avid, lifetime member of weightwatchers. A funeral service was held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at the Colonial Heights Chapel of E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes, 2033 Boulevard, Colonial Heights, Va. 23834, where the family received friends one hour prior to the service from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Interment followed in Southlawn Memorial Park, S. Prince George, Va.
