June 20, 1955 – April 26, 2023

On Wednesday, April 26, 2023, God in his infinite way peacefully called, Marvin from Earth to his Heavenly Garden and the Lord.  Our beloved Marvin Milton Williams , affectionately known as “Little Baby and Lour”, of 500 Farmer Street, Petersburg, VA, was born June 20, 1955 to the late Isaiah Williams and Alice McKensie Williams of Sutherland, VA.

Marvin accepted Christ at an early age and became a member of the Springfield Baptist Church.  As a young boy, Marvin enjoyed walking to church to attend Vacation Bible School, revival and 4th Sunday Youth Services along with his mother, brothers and sisters.  Also as a young boy he enjoyed catching bumble bees and June bugs to keep in a jar. He also enjoyed fishing and listening to music and playing his keyboard. He was an avid fan of wrestling and monster truck shows. He is a graduate of Dinwiddie County High School.  Marvin retired from Fort Lee (now Fort Gregg-Adams) when his health began to decline.

Marvin was preceded in death by his father, Isaiah Williams and his brother, Sherman I. Williams. Cherishing his memories are two loving children, daughter, Stacey Muhammad of Petersburg, VA, and son, Marteace Mason (Rachel) of Henderson, NC; loving grandchildren, Briana Mason, MarQuon “Fat Daddy” Mason, Keyairra Talley, Ra’Keya Talley and Zavarius Mason; and great-grandson, Nova Mason. Also cherishing Marvin’s memories, his loving and devoted mother, Alice M. Williams of Sutherland, VA; loving and devoted sisters, Shirley M. Harris of South Chesterfield, VA; Rev. Charlotte W. Godfrey of Henrico, VA, and Clairessa D. Williams of Sutherland, VA, loving and devoted brothers, Walter L. Williams of Albuquerque, NM, Robert E. Williams of Petersburg, VA, and Larry D. Williams (Sheila) of Petersburg, VA; three loving aunts, Catherine Ella McKensie of Chesterfield, VA, and Janice L. Diggs both of Petersburg, VA, and Thelma McKensie of Sutherland, VA; and a host of nieces and nephews who loved him dearly and enjoyed laughing and joking with him along with numerous cousins, extended family and friends to include a devoted friend, Leticia Freeman and longtime friend, Sandra Crowder. 

Services will be held 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, May 3, 2023, in the Chapel of J. M. Wilkerson Funeral Establishment, Inc., 102 South Avenue, Petersburg, VA, the Rev. Edward L. Fox III, eulogist. The interment to follow at The McKenzie Family Cemetery.
