Ms. Lorraine McLaughlin Green was born on May 8, 1933 to Roosevelt and Mary Bethea McLaughlin. She was preceded in death along with her children, Vanessa, Mark and Victoria Green; siblings, LouAnna McLaughlin, Sylvester Hatchett, Douglas McLaughlin, Earl McLaughlin, Roosevelt McLaughlin and Winne Parham; nephews, Earl McLaughlin, Joseph Hatchett, Jr. and Roy Hatchett; niece, Arlene Thigpen; great grandson, Lorenzo Green; ex-husband, William Green, Sr.; sisters-in-law, Ruby McLaughlin, Arlean McLaughlin, Patricia Drew and Geraldine Starke McLaughlin.
Lorraine attended Peabody Middle School. She was an avid bingo player. She also enjoyed dancing, car rides, cooking and dressing-up. Lorraine wore many hats when it came to working. She worked for Foster Contracting, Colonial Heights, caretaker for the Foster’s and many other families. She also worked as a Supervisor for Virginia State Housekeeping Department and Sterile Concepts.
Lorraine leaves to cherish her memories behind her four children, William Green, Jimmy Green (Mavis), Nadine Green and Carolyn Johnson; grandchildren, Mario Hawkins, Tracy Eubanks, Cherese Green (Ace), Lashawn Green, Michael Johnson, Deneka Green, Amanda Johnson (Chi), Sabrina Green, Sarina King (Jay), Latoya Johnson, Ronnie Green Williams, Octavia Green (Zequez) and Paris Green; caretaker and great granddaughter, Tiana Walker; and a host of great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, devoted family and friends, the Washington and Chavis Families, Sarah Clarke, Tina Crewe, Linda Jackson, Lena Lewis, the Waterfront Family, Third Baptist Church Family, Calvary Temple (Petersburg), Dot Neverson and Adult Healthcare Solutions.
Services will be held 3:00 P.M., Saturday, April 16, 2022 at the Chapel of J. M. Wilkerson Funeral Establishment, Inc., 102 South Avenue, Petersburg, VA, the Rev. Brenda Cherry, eulogist.
