January 5, 1954 – August 16, 2023

On Wednesday August 16, 2023, God called our beloved mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend home to eternal rest. Linda Ann Langston, 69, affectionately known as “L.L.” and “Lil Linda” was well-known and loved in the 3rd Ward Community (The Heights) and surrounding districts in Petersburg.
Linda was funny, blunt, and outgoing. She put smiles on the faces of many, with her humor filled conversations. If you knew Linda, you know that she enjoyed; spending time with her son, hanging out with her friends, rolling with Gina and the kids, cooking a pot of beans, and sitting on the porch enjoying a cold beer and a cigarette.
She was a straight shooter, yet full of compassion. We will never forget how Linda kept it real! If she liked you, you knew it and if she didn’t like you, you knew it! To know her was to love her and she will be truly missed. Memories will live through everyone that had the opportunity to encounter her.
L.L. was preceded in death by her significant other, Lewis Harrsion; sisters, Rebecca Langston and Doris Ellis; and her nieces, Dionna Langston and Sophia Ellis
Linda is survived by her only child, Kevin Langston whom was the absolute love of her life; her one and only grandbaby, Ti’Quasha Walker; brothers, Willie Ellis (Brenda) and James Ellis; sisters, Jean Minnicks, Mary Langston and Susan Waiters; nieces; Regina Langston (the daughter she never had and partner in crime), Tammy Ellis, and Pamela Howlett; nephews, Waverly “Boogie” Langston (devoted), Marcus Langston, Howard Ellis, and Marvin Ellis; a host of great nieces and nephews five of which she helped raise that all held special places in her heart, Skie, Delqukis, Delginae, Alexis, and Myjik; Waverly “Tyree” Langston, Starr Langston, and Ezekiel Mohammad all who loved their Aunt Linda so very much; one bonus nephew, Royal Smith that has been by her side since the start of her decline in health. Linda always spoke highly of her devoted friends, Ashley Parker, Sheron Burgess and Demondye Lee; and numerous other family and friends that we knew loved her dearly.
Linda found peace knowing her caregivers and extended family, Malaka Spriggs and Jaela Jones, were taking good care of her. She knew if she spoke on something, Malaka would address it. Linda lived life and even death thinking about Kevin. Every decision was made with him in mind. She knew her “Baby Boy” so well that she planned this day out in advance. Linda insisted that her wishes be carried out. With the only thought in her mind, her Baby Boy.
Services will be held 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, August 23, 2023, in the Chapel of J. M. Wilkerson Funeral Establishment, Inc., 102 South Avenue, Petersburg, VA. The interment to follow at Wilkerson Memorial Cemetery.
