August 17, 1948 – March 14, 2023
On Tuesday, March 14, 2023, Larry Andrew Cole, affectionately known as “Spody”, at age 74, of South Chesterfield, VA entered into eternal rest at Chippenham Hospital. Larry Cole was born on August 17, 1948 to Leander and Lillian Cole. He accepted Christ at an early age at Little Mount Baptist Church Disputanta, Virginia.
He attended Sussex County School System. He was employed with Brown & Williamson Tobacco, Inc. for many years until closing. Larry enjoyed fishing, working on cars, playing horseshoes, cards and being around family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leander and Lillian Cole; brothers, Joseph and Melvin Cole; and his step-son-in-law, Robert Adams, Sr.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories: his loving and devoted wife, Minnie V. Cole of South Chesterfield, VA; his children, Sharlana Cole (John) of Petersburg, VA, Michele Tallent (Daniel) of Maryland, Derek Warren (Sarah) of North Carolina, and Genese Warren of Matoaca; step-children, Edward Wilson (Sharon) of Clinton, MI, devoted-Jewel Adams of Troy, VA, Margo Fisher (Dominic) of Petersburg, VA; his devoted brothers and sisters, James Cole (Brenda) of Chesterfield, VA, Vanessa Granderson (Curtis), Brenda Bartee (Kilroy), and Alonzo Cole all of Petersburg, VA, Thomas Cole of Germany and his newly found family the Rives; his sisters and brothers-in-law, Thomas Mays (Phyllis) of Chicago, IL, Elaine Mays, Brenda Mays, Anthony Mays and Kelly Mays all of Petersburg, VA, Annette Cole of Waverly, VA; four grandchildren, Anaiah and Ian Tallent both Maryland, Joshua and Gable Cole both of Petersburg, VA; twelve step grandchildren and fifteen step great grandchildren, one devoted Semaj Wilson; host of nieces and nephews, devoted friends, Ricky Green, Tack Walker, Roy Saunders and his cousin, Michele Robinson (his fishing buddy) all of Petersburg, VA.
Services will be held 1:00 PM, Saturday, March 25, 2023 in the Chapel of J. M. Wilkerson Funeral Establishment, Inc., 102 South Avenue, Petersburg, VA.
