June 15, 1926 – May 3, 2023

Joseph Taylor, 96, of 10914 Lawyer Road, Prince George, Virginia, departed this life to be with the Lord on Wednesday April 3, 2023.  He was the son of the late Mr. Carton and Hattie Taylor.

He accepted Christ at an early age. He joined Mt. Hope Baptist Church as a young child and was a loyal member until joining Lebanon Baptist Church serving faithfully for 16 years.  Joseph worked a variety of jobs before moving to Bridgestone for 30 years where he retired. He love restoring old cars. Joseph enjoyed listening to gospel, dancing, playing spades and fellowshipping with all he knew and met. His adoring smile and laughter could be heard and felt by anyone who knew him.

Joseph was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Taylor; brothers, John, Lee, Webster, Thomas, and Henry Taylor; sisters, Juliet Taylor; and his son, Joseph “Joey” Taylor.

Joseph is survived by seven sons, Horace (Rejeana),Gilbert (Barbra), Curtis, Aubrey, Marcus, Terry and Floyd Taylor; and two lovely daughter, Beatrice Harris and Glenda Taylor. Joseph also leaves a host of loving grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends too numerous to name.

Services will be held 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, May 9, 2023, at Mt. Hope Baptist Church, 10300 Lawyers Road, Prince George, VA, Pastor Wayne Gholston, eulogist. The interment to follow at the church cemetery.
