John Archer Cairns, Jr., 54, of Dinwiddie County, passed away on March 6, 2022. He was preceded in death by his mother, Doris F. Cairns. John worked at Jim’s Body Shop and was also a truck driver. He was known for his truck and the cooler he kept in the bed of his truck with coca-colas. He enjoyed playing the lottery, cruising through the country making daily stops at Food Barn, Salem & Sons, and Food Lion, and he loved to be outdoors. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. John is survived by his wife of 31 years, Tammy A. Cairns; children, Chaily N. Cairns (Billy), David T. Cairns (Tamara), and Colton C. Cairns; grandchildren, Brent T. Cairns, Laci B. Cairns, Easton D. Cairns, Bristal L. Cairns, and Berkli M. Cairns; father, John A. Cairns, Sr.; siblings, Kim C. Payne (Jeff) and Lisa C. Woodard (Eddie); and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. The family received friends at J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home – Dinwiddie Chapel, 6616 Boydton Plank Road, on Thursday, March 10 at 2:00 p.m., where a service was held in the chapel at 3:00 p.m. Interment was private.
