Jamar S. Savage Jones

December 17, 1991 – April 22, 2022

Our hearts were saddened by the loss of our beloved, Jamar Samonta Jones, “Savage”, age 30, of Petersburg, who departed this life Friday April 22, 2022. He was born December 17, 1991 to Natasha Parham and Donald Jones.

Jamar resided in Petersburg. He attended the Petersburg Public School System and while a student at Vernon Johns Middle School he was a great athlete. He enjoyed playing baseball, basketball, and football. He was also a member of the 2006 Vernon Johns Championship Football team. He graduated from Petersburg High School. Savage enjoyed spending time with his children, close family members, and friends. He was a free spirit and enjoyed living his life to the fullest.


He was preceded in death by his brothers, Jaymonta “Phatz” Jones and Isaiah “IP” Stevens; step-brother, Jakarri “Kari Wam” Shaw; maternal grandmother, Jacquelin Warren-Parham; and his paternal grandfather, Donald Lovejoy.

Jamar leaves to cherish his memories to his loving parents, Donald Jones and Natasha Parham; his loving children, son Jaymonta Jones (King), daughters, Ja’keirra and Khloe Jones and fiancĂ©e, Lakishia Jordan; sisters, Jakarra Adams and Starr Hudgens; step-sister Jasmine Desmore; step- brother, Javarius Desmore; paternal grandmother, Yvonne Jones; maternal grandfather, Ronald Parham; maternal great grandmother, Helen Warren; aunts, Priscilla Jones-Jordan, Audrey Jones-Winfield (Joseph Jr.), Tonia Jones, Tomeka Parham, and Latoya Briggs; great aunt, Helen Fitzgerald; uncles, Ronnell Parham, Tyrone Jones (Bernadette), Antoine Jones, Sr. (Joy), and Tyrone Redd; nieces, Jamirah Jones, Kayden Stevens, De’zire Pope, Madison and RyLee Adams; nephews, D’zion and LamarĂ© Gregory; a host of devoted cousins, Tierra Jones, Antoine Jones, Jr. (like a brother), Steven Johnson, Jacqueline Parham, Marquasha Clanton, Nyheim Leake  and Markese Taylor to name a few; close friends, Michael Rives, Larry Bonner, Cordero Hines, and Kevin Green to name a few.

Services will be held 11:00 A.M., Saturday, May 7, 2022 at Mt. Olivet Baptist Church, 800 Augusta Avenue, Petersburg, VA, the Rev. Dr. Wesley K. McLaughlin, Pastor and Rev. Jameson K. McLaughlin, eulogist.  The interment to follow at Mt. Minnis Memorial Park.
