August 12, 1959 – January 16, 2023

On Monday evening, January 16, 2023, our hearts were saddened by the sudden passing of our loved one, Mrs. Ida Florence Hunt of 306 Spring Street, Petersburg, VA.

Ida was native of Philadelphia, PA. She was born August 12, 1959, to the Emil and Ida Ricca of Lancaster, PA she was daughter-in-law of Christine H. Haskins of Chesterfield, VA and John Brown of Baltimore, MD. Ida was also peceded in death by her brother, John Ricca; sister, Barbara Parks; and father-in-law, Norman Haskins.

Ida was graduated of Gwynedd Mercy University, Gwynedd Valley, PA with a degree in Respiratory Therapy. She retired from Virginia Commonwealth Medical Center after many years of service as a respiratory therapist. Ida continued her passion as a respiratory therapist working part-time at Bon Secours Southside Regional Medical Center and in 2020, she joined Vibra Hospital Richmond staff part-time.

Ida believed in family; you could always catch her with a good book in her hand. She loved the sounds of ocean. She also enjoyed dancing, a good road trip and cooking a feast for family and friends.

She leaves to cherish her memory: a devoted husband, Joseph K. Hunt of 27 years; two stepchildren, Jevin and Quenton Yates of Petersburg, VA; two brothers, Emil J. Ricca (Rina) of Herriman Utah and Daniel Ricca of Lancaster, PA; brother-in-law, Carl J Hunt and sister-in-law, Adrienne G Ballard (Byron) of Chesterfield, VA; a devoted niece, Lisa P Christ (Dwayne) of Lancaster, PA; six grandchildren and a host nieces, nephews, cousins,  other relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held 3:00 P.M., Saturday, January 21, 2023, in the Chapel of J. M. Wilkerson Funeral Establishment, Inc., 102 South Avenue, Petersburg, VA.
