February 8, 1953 – April 2, 2023

Harold Lee Moore, Sr., 70, entered eternal rest April 2, 2023, at his residence 1528 West Lane, Petersburg, VA.  He was born to the late Ellen Briggs and Benjamin Coleman.

Harold was educated in Dinwiddie County, VA, and there after he graduated from Job Cops. Harold served in the United States Marine. He was employed with Pepsi Cola Bottling Plant for numerous years. He was also employed at Southern Construction followed by the Virginia Department of Transportation where he retired after 23 years of service.

Harold met and married his wife Sharon Moore. Together they shared 43 years of marriage.

He was preceded in death by his two sons, Harold Lee Moore, Jr., and Shaun David Moore; mother, Ellen Briggs; father, Benjamin Coleman; sister, Phyllis Coleman; and his stepfather, Walter Briggs.

Harold is survived by his loving and caring wife, Sharon Moore; one daughter, Octivia Moore; two sons, Marcus Harris (Crystal), and Carlos Harmon (Quita); sixteen grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.  Harold is also survived by seven aunts, Alice Moore (Gertrude), Anna Bell Moore, Virger Neal (Aaron), Alice Parker (Charlie), Diana Street, Betty Vaughan, and Leathea Winfield; one uncle, Emmett (Zeke), ten sisters, Evangelist Mildred Hairston, Annie Clark (James), Christine Briggs, Janet Anderson, Stella Winfield (Joseph), Shirley Browder, Beckee (Parrot), Donna Coleman, Charlotte, and Annie Jackson; eight brothers, Walter Briggs, Gerald Briggs (Shavon), Jerome Briggs, Raymond Briggs, Wayne Briggs, Benjamin Coleman, Castella, Bernard Coleman and Tyrone Coleman.  He leaves to cherish his memories his devoted sister, Annie Clark, Mildred Hairston, and Christine Briggs; one brother, Gerald Briggs; devoted sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Carolyn Linda Wiggins El and Flint Gregory Wiggins El; and devoted relatives, Franklin Williams, Wilhelmina Coleman, and Katherine Moore.

He was a Washington Commanders (Redskins) fan. He loved watching Western, the Young and the Restless, The Bold and the Beautiful, cooking, grilling, laughing, joking, and traveling.  Harold also loved his family dearly!

Services will be held 3:00 P.M., Saturday, April 15, 2023, in the Chapel of J. M. Wilkerson Funeral Establishment, Inc., 102 South Avenue, Petersburg, VA, the Rev. Dr. Herbert W. Anderson, eulogist.  The interment to follow at Wilkerson Memorial Cemetery.
