Mr. Harold Jackson Jr, 66, of Petersburg, VA, entered into eternal rest surrounded by his family in Petersburg, VA on Monday, June 19, 2023. He was born in Petersburg, VA to the late Harold Jackson, Sr. and Fannie Louise Ridley Carter.
Harold was a graduate of the 1974 class of Petersburg High School. After graduating, he attended Norfolk State University. In 1977, he joined the U.S. Army and retired after nearly 20 years of service with tours in Italy, Germany, Panama and Korea.
After his retirement from the Army, Harold continued to work at the VA. He wrestled throughout high school, college and with the Army. Harold was always quick with a story and the life of the party. He enjoyed playing chess, spades and dominos and was always ready for a challenge.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister, Diane Jackson; and his brother, Tyrone Jackson.
Harold is survived by his children Harold Jackson III and wife Heather Jackson of Mountain Top, PA, Marcus Parham and wife Jasmine Parham of Petersburg, VA, Tiffany Jackson of Richmond, VA and Gloria Taylor-Jordan and husband Randolph Jordan of Petersburg, VA; grandchildren, Noah Jackson of Fort Meade, MD, Narissa Jackson of Mountain Top, PA, Jazariah Parham, Janiya Parham, Journii Parham, Khori Brown, Marcus Parham, Jr. and Tavion Jackson all of Richmond, VA and Matawan Edmunds of Savannah, GA; siblings, Charlene Crocker and husband Ronald Crocker of Richmond, VA, James Gordon Jackson of Petersburg, VA and Shelverden Carter of Petersburg, VA, aunt, Margie Wilson of Petersburg, VA; uncle, Ronald Jackson of North Carolina; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
Services will be held 11:00 A.M., Friday, June 23, 2023, in the Chapel of J. M. Wilkerson Funeral Establishment, Inc., 102 South Avenue, Petersburg, VA, the Rev. Dr. Robert A. Diggs, Sr., eulogist. The interment to follow at Virginia Veterans Cemetery.
