Eddie Harris, Jr., 52, of 1517 Richmond Highway, Richmond, VA, departed this life on April 1, 2023.  “Junebug, Bug or Eddie Kane” as he was affectionately known was born on December 11, 1970, in Richmond, VA, to Maggie Lee Thomas and Eddie Harris.

He was a graduate of Hopewell High School. Eddie was employed as an auto mechanic and retired into a man of many talents.

In Eddie’s spare time, he enjoyed detailing cars, fishing, mixing CDs, going to the casino, building remote powered cars, playing basketball, watching football, riding dirt bikes/four-wheeler, and off-roading.

Preceding him in death: his mother, Maggie Lee Thomas and father, Eddie Harris; uncle, George Grammer; and his cousin, Wayne Creighton-Bey.

Eddie leaves to cherish his memories, his children Edishae Harris-Tyler and Denisha Harris, aunts, Josephine Berry; uncle, Raymond Grammer; other relatives: Eddie Berry (aka Lee), Michael Mahan, James Claiborne, Billy Mason, Tammy Arroyo, Charles Pender, Jr. (aka Mann), Denise Mason, and a host of others devoted friends, Lankey ‘Pop’ Walker, Essie Vaughn, Damion Singleton, Elmer Johnson, Jason, and a host of other family and friends.

Services will be held 1:00 P.M., Saturday, April 8, 2023 in the Chapel of J. M. Wilkerson Funeral Establishment, Inc., 102 South Avenue, Petersburg, VA, the Rev. Chameka Wannamaker, eulogist.
