August 26, 2010 – August 12, 2023

Dikalen Jh’Mari Mason, 12, affectionately known as “Bugg and DK” suddenly departed his life on August 12, 2023. Dikalen was born August 26, 2010 to Kiersten Wyche and Dionte Mason. 

Dikalen was full of life and laughter. He had a passion for video games and football. Dikalen was a die hard Buffalo Bills fan. Dikalen also played recreational football for the Tri-City Flames, Burgboyz, and the Chester Jets. Dikalen was a well-mannered child and had a heart of gold. Dikalen loved his siblings and friends dearly and there wasn’t anything he wouldn’t do for them. 

He was preceded in death by his father, Dionte J. Mason and paternal grandmother, Bessie D. Mason.

Dikalen leaves to cherish his memories: his loving and devoted mother, Kiersten Wyche; one sister, Jamira Mason; two brothers, Dionte Mason and Kaisen Edmonds; his grandmother, Tara Wyche; grandfather, Francis Barboza (Vernalisa); one great grandmother, Mary Binford of Macon, GA; three loving aunts, Rashanda Mason, Kayla Wyche, and Delisiah Pittman; one uncle, Andre Mason (Nikkia); a host of cousins, Nadja, Son Son, Taurus, Kamryn, Raven, Deshawn, Natalia, Zionha, Tiffany (Mike); his loving friends, the Staff and students of Carver Middle School and the Petersburg Community. 

The family would also like to thank Apostles Jeffrey V. Odom and Pamela D. Odom and the Agape Family, Keely Jones-Burkett, Fatima Benjamin, DaNelda Salter, Tameika McCoy, Patrice Godbolt, and Jaquell Nicholas for their support during this time and to anyone else you all are appreciated.

Services will be held 1:00 P.M., Saturday, August 26, 2023, at Faith and Hope Temple Church of God in Christ, 1800 East Washington Street, Petersburg, VA, Bishop Herman Crockett, Jr., Pastor and Apostle Jeffrey V. Odom, eulogist. The interment to follow at Wilkerson Memorial Cemetery.
