Ms. Delores L. Epps who was affectionally known to many as “Miss Dee”, was called to her heavenly home on Sunday, March 6, 2022. She was born August 4, 1933 to the late Willie and Martha Epps.
She attended the Petersburg Public School System. She was a caregiver until her health declined and she became disabled in the 1980’s. She enjoyed cooking out, chatting, and listening to music with her neighbors.
Delores was preceded in death by her brother, Willie Epps; granddaughter, Angela Y. Smith; grandson, Kwama Smith; a niece, Mable Jackie Blount; and three nephews, Gordon Kenneth Chatman, Gary Chatman, and Earnest Chatman.
She leaves to cherish her memory: two devoted daughters, Cindy Ford (Jerry deceased) and Tracey Wilson (Russell); three sons, Larry Epps, Roy Epps, and Tyrone Epps; six grandchildren, one devoted, Latisha Neal (Aaron); seven great-grandchildren; three sisters, Earnestine Chatman, Elsie Epps, and Vinette Hart; two brothers, William Van Alstine (Ann) and McKenzie Epps (Ruth); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Services were held 1:00 P.M., Friday, March 18, 2022 at the Chapel of J. M. Wilkerson Funeral Establishment, Inc., 102 South Avenue, Petersburg, VA, Bishop Jeffrey L. Reaves, Sr., eulogist. The interment followed at Dinwiddie Memorial Park.
