Mr. David L. Bruen, of 7424 Crosspoint Lane, Prince George, VA, departed this life Thursday, April  6, 2023 at his residence.   He was born on April 23, 1947 to Arthur and Kelma Bruen in Rensselaer, Indiana. He graduated high school in Warren, Michigan and received his Master’s Degree in Human Resources Management from St. Leo College. David served in the United States Army for 21 years, retiring as an E-7, Staff Sergeant. He had a long and meritorious career, including a tour in Vietnam. After he retired from the military, he joined the ranks of government service, working for the Quartermaster School at Fort Lee, Virginia.

David had many hobbies; reading, astronomy, scuba diving, hiking and camping, rock collecting, exploring caves, riding his motorcycles, weightlifting/powerlifting, and everything Star Trek, just to name a few. He believed in Christ and had a gentle, but strong faith. Those who have gone on before him include his parents and his sister, Barbara, along with various aunts and uncles.

David is survived by: his wife, Pamala Marie Bruen, of 55 years; daughters, Dawn Marie Gammill and Wendy Lynn Wells; and brother, Art Bruen; 10 grandchildren,  Sarah, Albert, David, Freddy, Scotty, Mae-Marie, Bailey, Myron, Davy, and Gracie; and 6 great-grandchildren,  Lexi, Gohan, Ezra, Xavier, Olan, and Alistair that all love him dearly; and a host of nieces, nephews, and a multitude of friends from over the years.  David is deeply missed and forever cherished. 

A Celebration of Life will  be held at 11am, Wednesday, April 12, 2023 at City Point Restoration Church, 2300 Bluefield Street,  Hopewell, VA.  Interment will follow in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
