Daisy M. Roney, age 91, of Pittsburgh, PA, answered Jesus’ call and went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, March 11, 2023 at Allegheny General Hospital. She was formerly of Dinwiddie, VA, but resided in Pittsburgh, PA since 1963.

Daisey was the daughter of the late Mannie and Edith W. Stewart born in 1931. At an early age, she joined Gravel Run Baptist Church, Dinwiddie, VA. Daisy married Oliver Roney, Jr. in March of 1950.To their union, four children were born, with one preceding her in death, Faye R. Roney. She was also preceded in death by her husband; and her four brothers, Jesse V. Stewart, Connie D. Stewart, Jerry G. Stewart and Solomon H. Stewart.

After moving to Pittsburgh, Daisy and Oliver joined White Lily Baptist Church in 1964, where she served faithfully as choir member, Missionary, Youth Church Advisor, Pastor’s Aide and Willing Worker. She was employed for 22 years with the Pittsburgh Public School System as a lunch aide at Chartiers Elementary School.

Daisy leaves with treasured memories: her two daughters, Hazel R. Coleman (William) of Stone Mountain, GA and Tracy V. Roney of Pittsburgh, PA; one son, Vincent S. Roney (Carla) of Coraopolis, PA; beloved adopted, son Earl D. White of Blackpool Lancashire, UK; 8 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Services will be held 11:00 A.M., Friday, March 24, 2023 in the Chapel of J. M. Wilkerson Funeral Establishment, Inc., 102 South Avenue, Petersburg, VA, the Rev. Larry Brown, eulogist. The interment to follow at Dinwiddie Memorial Park.
