August 31, 1977 – July 2, 2023

God called, Corey Travor Thompson, better-known as “Big C”, home July 2, 2023.  Corey was a former employee of 14 years at Pep Boys. Everyone knew Corey for his beautiful smile, his kind words and his loving respectful way.  Corey was very passionate about working on cars which was his favorite thing to do.

Corey was a die-hard fan of WWE SmackDown. He loved and adore his wife and children and he was really big on family. Corey always wanted to help anyone he could.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Ella M. Williams; stepson, Tejuan Banks; and his brother, Reynauld Thompson.

Corey leaves to cherish his loving memories: his wife, Shante Thompson; three daughters, Nydia Banks, Cerenity Thompson and Jai’vonna  Webb; stepson, Devonte Banks; and grandbaby, Iyonna Banks. Corey also leaves behind his father, Clifford Williams; mothers-in-law, Sharon Saunders (Javaughn) and Sandra Banks; sisters-in-law, Keyosha Drew, Breonna Drew and Tiara Street; devoted friends, Clint Bates (Darlene), Robert Reese (Courtney), Willie Ridley and Latisa Banks; and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends too numerous to name.

The family will like to thank the nurses and doctors of Southside Medical Center for all their care. Also, special thanks to the prayer warrior Vonissa White and the Pep Boys Crew we love you all.

Services will be held 3:00 P.M., Tuesday, July 11, 2023, in the Chapel of J. M. Wilkerson Funeral Establishment, Inc., 102 South Avenue, Petersburg, VA, the Rev. Antonio Tazewell, eulogist. The interment to follow at Wilkerson Memorial Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5:30 P.M. to 6:30 P.M., Monday, July 10, 2023 at the funeral establishment.
