May 20, 1958 – June 1, 2023

Clementine Diana Taylor, affectionately known as, “Bagail, Kitty or Shimmy”, of Petersburg, VA, departed this life suddenly on Thursday, June 1, 2023. She was born on May 20, 1958, in Sussex County, VA to the late McKinley and Margaret Taylor.
At an early age, Clementine joined Little Mount Baptist Church, Disputanta, VA and later joined Rising Mount Zion Baptist Church, Carson, VA. She attended Sussex Central High School, Sussex County, VA.
Clementine was quite a character. As you can see, she had many nicknames because she never met a person that she didn’t rename. She loved to look pretty and her eyes would widen at the sight of herself in a beautiful dress, especially a sundress or new outfit. Let’s not talk about a pocketbook! She loved her Lawrencey Boy, vanilla ice cream and music. She also was fond of puzzles, books, and her bear, Puddin Pop.
Bagail was preceded in death by four brothers, Charles Taylor, Harold Taylor, Otha Taylor and Walter Taylor; and one sister, Gladys Taylor.
Bagail leaves to cherish her memories and is survived by: four brothers and three sisters, Lawrence Taylor, Sr. (Elaine) of Petersburg, VA, Calvin Taylor (Yvonne) of Waverly, VA, Ryan Taylor (Francine) and Barry Taylor (DeHaviland) both of Ettrick, VA, Tiris Henley (Tyrone) of Chesterfield, VA, Sandra Taylor of Petersburg, VA, and Gloria “Deane” Taylor of Ettrick, VA; sister-in-law, Minister Elder Gloria L. Taylor; uncle, Norman Brown (Della) of Petersburg, VA; devoted friend and caregiver, Temitope Abolade; devoted family members raised as brothers, Golden Brown of Augusta, GA, Marcus Smith of Petersburg, VA and John Prosise (Joyce) of Frederickaburg, VA; special friends, Dorothy Davis and Ms. Barbara; and a host of devoted nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces, great-great nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
The Taylor family extends a special thank you to everyone that assisted with Clementine’s care on her journey of life, the Doctors, Nurses, Security Team and Staff of Bon Secours Southside Medical Center, the Staff of District-19 Group and everyone who prayed and loved on our sweet and feisty Bagail.
