November 27, 1987 – April 23, 2023

Ms. Brandie Latrice Ramsey was born on November 27, 1987, in Fort Stewart, Georgia. She was the second daughter of Dietrich and Paula Ramsey. 

Growing up, Brandie had the opportunity to travel and visit many places as a military dependent. She was a graduate of Chapin High School, El Paso, TX. Brandie earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology at Tennessee State University. While in college, Brandie became a member of Epsilon Psi Gamma Sigma Sigma Sorority. Brandie began her work as a social worker shortly after she graduated from college. She worked for the Penny Royal Company in Hopkinsville, KY for several years before she moved to Petersburg, VA. Brandie became a service coordinator at District 19 in 2019. Shortly after, she also received her master’s degree in healthcare administration at Southern New Hampshire University.

Brandie loved the Lord and served God with the various gifts and talents that He blessed her with. Throughout her life, she served in many ministries. Brandie enjoyed ministering in song and dance alongside her sisters, Brittany and Breona. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Freeman, VA and was covered by Dr. Michael A. Walker, Sr. Brandie enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She also enjoyed traveling and found trying different kinds of food interesting. She loved being out and about with friends and family. Brandie made it her purpose to experience life and spend time with those she loved. 

Brandie leaves to cherish her memory: her father, Dietrich Ramsey; mother, Paula Ramsey; grandmother, Inez Kimbrough; sister Brittany Walker (Michael) of South Chesterfield, VA; two nieces, Ashara and Ezrah; one nephew, Ja’Mez; her youngest sister, Breona Ramsey of Richmond, VA; and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, other relatives and friends.  

Brandie was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Henry and Pinnie Ramsey; maternal grandfather, Paul Kimbrough I; uncle, Paul Kimbrough II; and her aunt, Renata Lynn Hines.

The family would like to express special thanks to the Staff of J.M. Wilkerson Funeral Establishment, Inc. for their care compassion shown towards our loved one. We also would like to thank everybody for your calls, emails, personal gifts, and support, as we continue to process this transition. We love all of you and continue to pray for our family, as we continue to push forward to honor her life and legacy.

Services will be held 11:00 A.M., Saturday, May 6, 2023, in the Chapel of J. M. Wilkerson Funeral Establishment, Inc., 102 South Avenue, Petersburg, VA, Dr. Michael A. Walker, Sr., eulogist. The interment to follow at Southlawn Memorial Park.
