Alice A. Anderson

November 21, 1950 – March 10, 2022

Our hearts were deeply saddened when God sent his angel and called our beloved, Alice Arletha Anderson affectionately known as “Ms. AAA”, home to be with her parents on March 10, 2022.

Alice was a native of Petersburg, Virginia she was born on November 21, 1950, to the late Ruth Brown Anderson and John Anderson, Sr. Alice was also preceded in death by her sister, Sarah Thompson; her nephew, Gilbert Thompson, Jr.; two nieces, Toronda Harvell and Tonda Anderson.

Alice received her early education through the Petersburg Public School System graduating from Peabody High School Class of 1968. Alice’s career path began in Oklahoma City as a dedicated Storeroom Clerk and lasted for more than 30 years, retiring from Fort Lee Regimental Club.

Alice confessed to Christ at an early age. Growing up Alice was the quiet and shy one. As she got older, she led with a quiet strength. You could say she was a quiet storm. She was a woman of very few words but when she spoke, she said what she said and meant it. She was an inspiration to all who knew her. She was best-known for her classy home and her diva dress styles. She was a kind and gentle person who loved spending time with family and friends. She was always there to brighten the lives of others. There was nothing Alice liked better than an interesting conversation with a good friend or family member. She would have anyone who carried a conversation with her laughing.

Alice was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and aunt who took great pride in her family’s accomplishments. Left to treasure a legacy of precious memories, two beautiful daughters, Monica Foxx and Temesia Anderson whom she loved and adored; five grandchildren, Jaquan, TaShea, Essence, Byron and Shyheim Anderson; four great-grandchildren, Jai’Yon, Jalen, Novah Anderson and her special “Pooh” Chance Anderson; five brothers, Charles Brown of Houston TX, Ivory Anderson of Petersburg, VA, John Anderson Jr. (Chasity), Charles Anderson and Raymond Anderson all of Brooklyn, NY; one sister, Sandra Anderson of Petersburg, VA; goddaughter, Jessica Gregory; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and special devoted friends, Robert Ashcraft, Jr. and Pamela Marshall.

Services were held 11:00 A.M., Thursday, March 17, 2022, at the Chapel of J. M. Wilkerson Funeral Establishment, Inc., 102 South Avenue, Petersburg, VA.
