Mrs. Alease Reed Lewis, 62, of 24923 River Rd., North Dinwiddie, Virginia, entered into eternal rest early Saturday morning, July 23, 2022. She was born on November 8, 1959, in Petersburg, Virginia to the late Willie A. Reed, Sr. & Julia E. Reed. She was affectionately known as “Baby Lou”, “Bunchie”, and “Red”.

She accepted Christ at an early age and joined High Street Methodist Church, Petersburg, VA. She was educated in the Petersburg Public School System, Petersburg, VA. She worked for many years as a LPN in home healthcare and for Lucy Corr, Chesterfield, VA for over 15 years. She was also a cook many years at Golden Corral, Piccadilly, Great American, Hilton Garden Inn, and the Waffle House. She also worked at Central State Hospital and Crown Gas Station for several years. She enjoyed cooking, fishing, singing, dancing, listening to music, doing crossword puzzles, playing spades and dominos. In her earlier years, she also enjoyed playing baseball, softball, running, and jogging.

Alease is survived by: her husband of 25 years, ReCarlos T. Lewis, of Petersburg, VA; her children, Tonia Phillips, Raven Phillips-Lee, and Julia Phillips all of North Dinwiddie, VA and their father, William Phillips (Arletha); grandchildren, Shamone W. Parham, Trevone Parham, Darius Miles, Jr., Brandon Belfield Jr., Artura Hawley, Jr., Che’tasia Lee, Ja’niyah Lee, and Ariyana Lee. She also has several great-grandchildren; sisters, Catherine Cole (Warren) of Prince George, VA; Barbara McClendon (Arthur), of East Orange, NJ; Shirley Reed of Petersburg, VA; and one brother, Paul Reed, of Petersburg, VA.; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, family and friends.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, July 30, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. at Tucker & Fisher Celebration of Life Chapel, 415 Halifax St., Petersburg, VA with Rev. Mark E. Vereen, Pastor of Hope Christian Ministries, Richmond, VA, officiating. Burial will follow at Dinwiddie Memorial Park, Dinwiddie, VA. Public viewing and visitation will be Friday, July 29, 2022, from 12:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
