February 20, 1926 – April 23, 2022
God is his infinite wisdom called his son, Albert Junious Myrick to eternal rest on Saturday, April 23, 2022 at his residence. He was born in South Hampton County, VA., (Emporia) on February 20, 1926 to the late Junious Myrick and Mandiel Myrick.
Albert was a graduate of Carter G. Woodson School in Hopewell, VA. After, graduation he entered the United States Navy. When he finished his term of service in the Navy he went to work for Continental Can Company, Hopewell, VA., retiring with thirty plus years of service. He was baptized at an early age. He later joined as a devoted member of the Arlington Road Church of Christ serving on the Trustee Board.
Albert was a wonderful father, grandfather and brother with a big heart and good sense of humor. His past time pleasures included, fishing, watching CNN, traveling and time spent with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Irene Myrick; two grandchildren, Jamal Spratley and Khadijah Myrick.
Mourning his loss and cherishing his fondest memories: children, Carolyn Thompson of Suitland, MD., Vanessa Myrick Rush (devoted) of Oxon Hill, MD., Regina Myrick Spratley of Washington, DC, Vincent Claiborne (devoted) of Hopewell, VA., Timothy Myrick (Debbye) of Blackstone, VA., Veronica Myrick (devoted) of Hopewell, VA, and Aretha Myrick Harrison (Norman) of Hopewell, VA; one brother, Thomas Myrick (devoted) of Hopewell, VA; one sister-in-law, (devoted) Joyce Ann Claiborne (Shad) of Hopewell, VA; thirteen grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, two devoted grandchildren, Jarrel and Dominique; host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends to include, Comer Family, Carol Brown and Family, Church of Christ Family, Ennis Family, and Dennis Edwards of Oxon Hill, MD.
Special thanks to the Veteran Hospital of Richmond, Hospice of Richmond and American Legion Post 146 of Hopewell.
Celebration of Life service will be held 1 P.M., Saturday, April 30, 2022 at the Arlington Road Church of Christ, 2106 Arlington Rd, Hopewell, VA, 23860, Dr. James Michael Crusoe, eulogist. Interment will follow at Mt. Sinai Community Cemetery, 4745 Mt. Sinai Rd, Prince George, VA.
