It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the passing away of our mother, grandmother, and great grandmother Abigail Adeola Oluwaremilekun Adedeji. She passed away peacefully in her sleep in the early hours of Monday, January 30th, 2023 due to natural causes. She was born in Ode-Omu, Nigeria to David Odedun-Sowemimo and Racheal Ayoka on March 27th, 1936. She grew up and attended school in both Ode-Omu and Lagos, Nigeria.

She moved to Ibadan, Nigeria upon the completion of her education to start her career as a medical aide at the University Teaching Hospital (UCH) in Ibadan, Nigeria. It was while she was working at UCH that she met and married her husband Moshood Adeleke Adedeji of blessed memory. Together, they had and raised 6 children. She was a deeply religious woman who raised all her children with an unparalleled passion for Christ. She was a member of Agodi Methodist Church in Ibadan, Nigeria before moving to the United States of America (USA) in 2002. While in the USA she worked for Thompson Hospitality before finally retiring in 2006. Upon retirement, she spent time sewing, reading, and traveling between the USA and Nigeria to spend time with her grandchildren, great grandchildren and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her brother, Titus Oyewole Odedun (Great Britain), her sister Adenike Aduke Dahunsi (Nigeria), her children, Florence Omobonike Smart (Bamidele), Oluwabukola Olushola Elegbede (Elijah), Akeem Babatunde Adedeji (Adijat), Olayemi Latifat Adesuyi (Sunday), Abimbola Ganiyat Odunmorayo (Randy), and Abass Adewale Adedeji (Bilikisu). She also leaves behind 17 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.
