April 24, 1950 – April 16, 2023

Ms. Juanita Stallings Richie of 1134 Commerce Street Petersburg Virginia, entered eternal rest Sunday April 16, 2023, at Tri Cities Hospital in Hopewell, Virginia. Juanita was a Petersburg native, and the daughter of Benny Sylvester Stallings, and Ida Mae McGee of Petersburg, Virginia.  She was preceded by her brother, Sylvester Jr. Stallings. 

Juanita is a graduate of the 1969 Class of Peabody High School and was the former direct care staffer at Southside Virginia Training Center (SVTC), for more than 39 years. Juanita was married to Harry C. Richie of Petersburg, Virginia, and is survived by her devoted son Antonio Lanier Richie of Petersburg, Virginia.

She leaves to cherish her memory: sisters, Clara Mae McMillan (Walter Sr.) of North Carolina, Sallie Faison of New York City, Ruby D. Greene of Petersburg, VA; and brother Reverend Dr. Ernest Stallings of California. Juanita leaves to cherish a host of nieces, Evelyn Faison of New York City, Latanya McMillan of North Carolina, Claretta McFarlane (Arturo) of Georgia, Rita Stallings, Cherita Johnson, Narieda Stallings, and Akon Anyiam (Robert) all of California; along with nephews Charles Greene (Lisa) of Virginia, Michael McGee (Sharon) and Anthony Faison, both of New York City, Walter McMillan (Ruth) and Derrick McMillan (Joy) of North Carolina.

Finally, left to cherish their grand and great grandmother of four grandchildren, Deja Brown, Giovanni Richie (Nikira), Te’Angelo Richie, and Di’Andre Richie, along with great grandchildren, Aidan and Kehlani Brown, and Rein Richie.

A memorial will be held at a later date.
